LETS WORK IT OUT

IF THE MIAMI DOLPHINS CAN EXERCISE, SO CAN WE … @ WORK!

We all can’t be freaks of nature (NFL) but it doesn’t mean we all can’t be healthy and in shape individuals.  Unlike, The Miami Dolphins and the rest of the NFL who go through vigorous 2-a-day workouts before season, we are lucky to get any kind of cardio or workout in for that week! Between work, school, a family, more and more people are just giving up on exercise.

“The 2010 Dolphins’ training camp opened on Friday, July 30th this year as third year head coach Tony Sparano and the Dolphins begin their full scale preparation for the 2010 season. Practice sessions will start that day, and will mark the first of 22 which are opened to Dolphins’ fans this summer.”

Besides there being “not enough time in a day,” another one of our excuses for not working out is the lack of a gym or its costly, monthly memberships. We don’t have the luxury of a training facility like our Miami Dolphins whose practices are held at the team’s Nova Southeastern University training facility in Davie, Fla. But we can IMPROVISE! Especially at work!

SIMPLE EXTRA STEPS: Key word: EXTRA

Remember every little thing counts. Just like when you eat fattening foods, you will put on weight. So if you do little exercises daily, it is going to add up! You don’t have to do sprints to the water fountain or purposely drop paper to get your daily 50 squats in.

  • Set an alarm to go off every hour to remind you to stand up and move around. Even if you just swing your arms or take a deep breath, you’ll feel more alert.
  • Use the restroom on another floor and take the stairs.
  • Deliver documents or messages to co-workers in person rather than by email.
  • Go to the mall for lunch and park on the opposite end of the food court. Don’t forget to buy something healthy.
  • Keep your abs constantly isolated and keep a better posture. Add some sitting oblique crunches every once in a while…you will definitely start feeling this after the first day!

Some, like Palm Beach County Fire Rescue’s Bud McCarroll, gave blood.

Others got knocked out. There were a couple loose teeth.

Welcome to cops versus firefighters, a night of boxing at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood!

About 2,000 fans showed up for 15 amateur bouts starring Finest and Bravest from Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. It was for something good, a fundraiser for the Hollywood Police’s Police Athletic League.

Best fight of the night: A fierce three rounds for the women’s light middleweight title between the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Wanda Cochrane and Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue’s Allison Dunne. Cochrane won in a split decision.

The clask of the Titans: A super heavyweight bout between 318-pound Broward Sheriff’s corrections officer Nahshon Seah and retired Miami firefighter Russell “Sugar Russ” Cooper, who came in at 286 pounds. Wasn’t so sweet for Cooper, knocked out cold in the second round.

The night included a heartbreaking tribute to cops and firefighters fallen during 9-11 nine years ago. Bag pipers played Amazing Grace while a film clip showed the burning World Trade Center towers in the background.

Man claims to be LeBron James’ father, files $4M lawsuit

MIAMI HERALD STAFF REPORT

A man who claims to be Miami Heat star Lebron James’ father has filed a $4 million paternity lawsuit, and James has asked the court to dismiss it, TMZ reported Tuesday.
Leicester Bryce Stovell filed the lawsuit in Ohio against James and his mother, Gloria, claiming fraud and defamation, the entertainment website said.
Attorneys for James and his mother have asked a judge to dismiss the suit, labeling it “rank speculation.”
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, James’ lawyers scoffed at “. . . a man who claims that as a 29-year-old lawyer he got a 15-year-old girl pregnant during a one-night stand and who never contributed a penny in child support would earn millions in commercial endorsements by crawling out of the woodwork after the child he never gave a thought to became an NBA star,” the website said.
The documents also note the results of a DNA test that show “0 percent probability of paternity.”

–This couldn’t be more typical. All we can say is look where he is without his daddy…
